Polygonatum odoratum is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asparagaceae family. The stem is cylindrical; the leaves are alternate, oval or ovate-oblong, with a pointed apex, grayish white below, and smooth to papillary rough veins below; the perianth is yellow-green or white, the perianth tube is straight, and the filaments are filamentous. Subsmooth or papillary; berries are blue-black when ripe; flowering period is from May to June, and fruit period is from July to September.
